Note2Task
Seamlessly turn notes into actionable user tasks and notify your team via email — directly from any record in Business Central. Note2Task bridges the gap between informal notes and structured task management, ensuring nothing gets lost.
In day-to-day business, employees frequently add notes to records such as customers, vendors, sales orders, or purchase orders. These notes often contain important action items — follow-up calls, open questions, or tasks that need to be completed by a colleague. However, standard Business Central notes are passive: they do not trigger any action, have no assignee, and do not notify anyone. As a result, important follow-up Notifications get buried, accountability is lost, and users must switch to external tools to communicate tasks.
Note2Task solves this directly inside Business Central. The moment a note is added to any record, a task creation dialog automatically appears. The user can assign the note as a structured task — with a description, assignee, optional due date, and email notification — without ever leaving the system. Every created task links back to the original record for full traceability and one-click navigation.
Note2Task is designed for any team that uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and relies on notes to communicate action items across colleagues. Typical users include:
- Sales teams — assign follow-up tasks to colleagues directly from customer or sales order records.
- Purchasing departments — create tasks from vendor notes or purchase orders requiring approval or clarification.
- Operations and logistics teams — flag issues on records and immediately delegate resolution to the responsible person.
- Finance and accounting staff — create reminders and approval tasks linked to invoices, credit memos, or customer accounts.
- Project and service managers — track open questions and action items tied to specific records without leaving Business Central.
